Along the Qinglong River and halfway up Baihua Mountain, there is an ancient village built against the mountains. It is called Matou, located in Hefeng Bouyei and Miao township, Kaiyang county, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province.
清龍河畔，百花山腰，有一座依山而建的古村，村內(nèi)古木繁茂，遠(yuǎn)看一片郁郁蔥蔥，好似一只青獅鎮(zhèn)守“山門”，這里便是貴陽市開陽縣禾豐鄉(xiāng)馬頭村。
Matou has a long history that can be traced back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279). Since the Yuan and Ming dynasties (1271-1644), with the continuous growth of the Bouyei population, Matou gradually became an important settlement for this ethnic group.
追溯馬頭村的建寨歷史，有史可查始于唐宋時(shí)期，當(dāng)時(shí)為蠻州宋氏轄地。到元、明兩代，馬頭村成為底窩總管府的遺址，是我國現(xiàn)存最古老的土司官寨之一，也是千年水東文化的重要?dú)v史物證。馬和馬頭是布依先民駱越人的圖騰，宋、元、明時(shí)期在駱越人聚居地區(qū)形成了以“馬”作為部落或區(qū)劃名稱的體制，馬頭則是布依部落首領(lǐng)的名字。
Here, Bouyei people not only thrive, but also deeply root their unique architectural style and cultural customs in the village.
在這里，布依族不僅繁衍生息，還將自己獨(dú)特的建筑風(fēng)格和文化習(xí)俗深深扎根于村落之中。
The cultural heritage of Matou is extremely rich and complex. Its iconic architecture, the ancient buildings of the Matou stockade village, is not only one of the oldest existing Tusi heritage sites in China, but has also been honored with many titles such as "major cultural heritage site under national-level protection", "famous Chinese historical and cultural village" and "traditional Chinese village".
馬頭村的文化底蘊(yùn)極為深厚，其標(biāo)志性建筑——馬頭寨古建筑群，不僅是國家級的文物保護(hù)單位，更是歷史的忠實(shí)記錄者。這座建筑群不僅是中國現(xiàn)存最古老的土司官寨之一，還榮獲全國重點(diǎn)文物保護(hù)單位、中國歷史文化名村。
It has also been named among the top 10 characteristic ethnic architectural buildings in Guizhou.
以及中國傳統(tǒng)村落以及貴州十大特色民族建筑等多項(xiàng)殊榮。
The ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties are arranged in a picturesque manner, with more than 90 buildings covering a vast area with intricate planning.
漫步其間，明清時(shí)期的古建筑錯(cuò)落有致，共計(jì)90余棟，占地面積廣闊且規(guī)劃精巧。
These buildings are mainly residential, complemented by temples, opera buildings, and ancient stone arch bridges, depicting a vivid picture of ancient village life.
這些建筑以民居為主，輔以莊嚴(yán)的寺廟、熱鬧的戲樓以及古樸的石拱橋，共同勾勒出一幅生動(dòng)而豐富的古代村落生活畫卷。
On May 25, 2006, the ancient Bouyei architectural cluster of Matou was officially listed among the sixth batch of major cultural heritage sites under national-level protection by the State Council.
2006年5月25日，馬頭寨布依族古建筑群被國務(wù)院正式列為第六批全國重點(diǎn)文物保護(hù)單位，這一殊榮不僅是對其深厚歷史價(jià)值的認(rèn)可，更是對其保護(hù)與傳承工作的殷切期望。
Today, Matou is attracting more and more attention with its unique charm, becoming an indispensable window into the history and culture of Guizhou.
如今，馬頭村正以它獨(dú)特的魅力吸引著越來越多的目光，成為探索貴州歷史與文化不可或缺的重要窗口。
